At first, I had no idea how the course of gratitude was going to be delivered, for I thought the theme was such an inane one. I thought I used to show gratitude to others when they did something for me. In class, Professor Udani asked us to write THANK letters to classmates. This really got me into recalling what others've done for me during the past one semester. I was lost in deep thoughts and suddenly I realize that one didn't have to do explicit good thing or do good thing exclusively for me to deserve my thanks. They may just sang a lovely song in class, set up the projector for all, or even merely smile to me. | |
| Thinking about more people surrounding me - security guard who slides card for me when I forget to bring mine, anonymous students who press the open-door button waiting for me to the lift, staffs who work for a better campus for the sake of every students, and so forth. How would we live without them? Surroundings are so much convenience and so many beautiful things provided by either great or anonymous people. I received several letters in surprise, for they reminds me that I'm important or have ever done something important to them, which was really inspiring. It feels like I saw beautiful flowers that grow from unknown seeds that I plant unconsciously in the past. |
Next, we were asked to write five sentences explaining how somebody had the most influence on me, following the requirement of calling to that person. I was so shocked and, of course, reluctant at first to do.
Like many other classmates, I chose to send message to my father on WeChat since he was in mainland while I was using CTM sim card. He didn't reply much but seem to be moved. The most unforgettable time was when some of us share their story with their important one. I was in tears. It's so lucky to have such a person in our life, with strong bond and always there for us.
I would like to express my sincerely appreciation to Professor Udani, for giving us such a great class.
